Stubbs S80 Plastic Feed Scoop – 2 Litre
Stubbs describe the S80 as the recognised measure of the feed industry, and that is close to literally true: when a feed company's chart says two scoops, it usually means two of these. Two litres dry, 23cm across, 10cm deep, 410g empty.
In practice a level scoop takes about 2kg of cubes, 1.5kg of a coarse mix or 0.5kg of chaff — and the gap between those three numbers is exactly why weighing your own feed once is worth the trouble. The graduated markings then let you work in halves and quarters.
Performance & Benefits
- The 2 litre scoop most UK feed manufacturers' charts are written around.
- Approximately 2kg of cubes, 1.5kg of mix or 0.5kg of chaff per level scoop.
- Graduated markings for halves and quarters.
- Stubbythene body with a Stubbyfine-coated steel handle.
- 0.41kg empty, 10cm high, 23cm wide.
- Washes out and dries quickly between different feeds.
Suitable For
- Following a feed manufacturer's scoop-based feeding chart.
- Everyday hard feed measuring in the stable or feed room.
- Yards keeping several horses on different rations.
- Taking to shows with a day's feed made up.
- Not a substitute for scales where a vet or nutritionist has specified a ration by weight.
How to Use
- Check what one level scoop of your feed actually weighs before following a chart.
- Fill level, not heaped.
- Rinse, wash and dry between different feeds.
- Store it hanging rather than standing in the bin.
