Chicksoft is a premium poultry bedding made from chopped, cleaned wheat straw. It is built around the two things that actually determine how a coop performs day to day — how much moisture the bedding will hold, and how much dust it puts into the air the birds breathe.

The straw is soft and friable rather than sharp and stalky, which reduces pressure points on the breast and hocks and lowers the risk of hock burn and foot injury. High absorbency keeps the litter dry, which in turn controls ammonia and odour, and means the coop needs stripping out less often. The bedding is thoroughly cleaned to keep dust content low, protecting the respiratory system of birds housed on it. Supplied as a compressed 16kg bale that stores tidily and opens out to cover a large area.

Care & Caution

• Store the bale off the ground in a dry place. Straw bedding that has taken up damp before use will not perform.
