Rosewood Soft Protection De-Matting Comb for Dogs & Cats
A bladed tool rather than a comb in the ordinary sense. The blades cut into a mat and break it apart, and Rosewood’s claim for it is specific: removing matting with minimal loss of coat length. Small teeth set between the blades collect the loose hair as it comes free.
That matters most on a long coat, where cutting a mat out with scissors leaves a hole that takes months to grow back. Code 07508, with the same moulded hand grip as the rest of the Soft Protection grooming range.

How to Use
- Work on a dry coat. A wet mat tightens and is harder to open.
- Hold the mat at its base so the blades pull against your hand, not the skin.
- Take short strokes through the outside of the mat, splitting it rather than forcing through.
- Finish with a comb to lift the loosened hair clear.
- Wipe the blades dry after use.

Care & Caution
- The blades are sharp and this tool cuts. Keep your fingers clear of the working edge and keep it away from children.
- Never pull a mat tight against the skin — skin lifts into a mat far more easily than owners expect, and the blades will find it.
- A mat felted flat to the skin is a job for clippers and a groomer or vet, not for a de-matting comb.
