KM Elite Double Braided Cotton Lead Rope – 7ft, Yellow
Yellow is the brightest of KM Elite's cotton double braid leads and the easiest to spot in a hedge, a lorry locker or the back of a trailer. It is the same 7ft (2.13m) round cotton rope as the rest of the range, with the same brass plated swivel bolt snap.
Because it is a light colour it shows dirt, but cotton washes: a rope like this comes back clean from a bucket of warm water and a scrub, which is not true of every synthetic braid. Hang it up to dry rather than putting it away damp.
Performance & Benefits
- 7ft (2.13m) of round cotton in a tight double braid.
- The most visible colour in the range in low light.
- Washes clean rather than staining permanently.
- Brass plated swivel bolt snap, corrosion resistant and free to turn.
- Soft cotton hand-feel that needs no breaking in.
Suitable For
- Everyday leading, bringing in and turning out.
- Riders leading on roads or in poor light, where a bright rope helps.
- Shared yards where ropes are easily mixed up.
- Matching a yellow KM Elite Padded Headcollar.
- Not the colour for a horse that lives out in mud all winter — the navy or black and white braid holds up better there.
How to Use
- Clip the swivel bolt snap to the back ring of the headcollar, under the jaw.
- Lead from the near side, hand roughly 30cm below the clip, spare rope folded flat.
- Wash in warm water with a mild detergent whenever it marks.
- Hang by the clip so the braid dries all the way through.
Specification
- Length 7ft (2.13m).
- Round cotton, tight double braided construction, yellow.
- Brass plated swivel bolt snap, corrosion resistant and swivelling.
- SKU 1001922. Barcode 5060171233817.
- KM Elite publish no rope diameter, weight or breaking strain for this lead, so none is stated here.
Care & Caution
- Never wrap the rope around your hand, wrist or waist. A horse pulling away against cotton will burn skin badly.
- Tie to a loop of breakable baler twine with a quick-release knot, never directly to a gate, ring or post.
- Do not leave a horse tied unattended, and do not leave the rope clipped on in the field, where a leg can go through it.
