KM Elite Double Braided Lead Rope 7Ft - Red
£8.99
KM Elite Double Braided Cotton Lead Rope – 7ft, Red
Red is the traditional yard colour and the one most people reach for first. This is KM Elite's cotton double braid in that shade: 7ft, 2.13m, round in section, tightly braided and finished with a brass plated swivel bolt snap.
The double braid gives the rope enough weight to hang straight rather than curling, so it feeds out smoothly when you let a horse have some slack and takes up again without tangling. Cotton keeps it soft on the hands right through a winter of early starts.
Performance & Benefits
- 7ft (2.13m), the standard everyday handling length.
- Round cotton double braid with enough weight to hang straight.
- Feeds out and takes up cleanly instead of kinking.
- Brass plated swivel bolt snap, corrosion resistant and swivelling.
- Soft cotton that stays comfortable on bare hands in cold weather.
Suitable For
- Everyday leading, tying up and turnout.
- Hunting, pony club and yards that keep to traditional colours.
- Tying up for grooming, tacking up and the farrier.
- Matching a red KM Elite Padded Headcollar.
- Not long enough for in-hand work at a distance — the KM Elite Double Braided Cotton Lead Rope 10ft gives 3.05m for that.
How to Use
- Clip the swivel bolt snap to the back ring of the headcollar, under the jaw.
- Lead from the near side with your hand about 30cm below the clip, slack folded flat in the other hand.
- Wash in warm water with a mild detergent; wash a red rope on its own the first time or two.
- Hang by the clip to dry fully before storing.
Specification
- Length 7ft (2.13m).
- Round cotton, tight double braided construction, red.
- Brass plated swivel bolt snap, corrosion resistant and swivelling.
- SKU 1001919. Barcode 5060171233800.
- KM Elite publish no rope diameter, weight or breaking strain for this lead, so none is stated here.
Care & Caution
- Never wrap the rope around your hand, wrist or waist — cotton grips skin and will burn it if a horse pulls away.
- Tie to a loop of breakable baler twine with a quick-release knot, never directly to a solid fixed object.
- Do not leave a horse tied unattended, and remove the rope before turning out.
