Henry Bell's Heritage Sunflower Hearts Feeder is a heavy duty 32cm feeder holding 490g of sunflower hearts behind bronzed diamond wire mesh. Henry Bell designed the mesh around the way birds feed on hearts: they cling and pick kernels through the diamonds, which gives more birds room around the tube than a handful of ports would.

The body is aluminium in Henry Bell's antique gold and bronze — light, strong and corrosion-resistant — with an easy-opening lid and a removable base for cleaning. Like every Heritage feeder it carries the Henry Bell seal on top and a colour-coded label, so the right food goes into the right feeder on a busy station.

How to Use

• Open the lid and pour in sunflower hearts.
• Hang from a feeding station, bird table or branch, with cover a short flight away.
• Fill only what will be eaten in a few days during wet spells, since hearts spoil without a shell.
• Remove the base and wash the feeder with a bird-safe hygiene spray every week or two.
• Dry it thoroughly before refilling, and provide fresh water nearby for drinking and bathing.
