Henry Bell Heritage Suet Cake Feeder
Henry Bell Heritage Suet Cake Feeder – 16cm
A 16cm aluminium cage that takes exactly one Henry Bell suet cake and nothing else, so there is no wrestling a differently sized block in sideways. It hangs from the same hook as the rest of the Heritage range and carries the same antique gold and bronze finish, which keeps a feeding station looking deliberate rather than assembled by accident.
Suet cake is the highest-energy thing you can hang out, and a flat cage is the sensible way to offer one. Birds cling to the wire and work at the block where it hangs, instead of breaking lumps off and carrying them away. Aluminium matters here more than elsewhere: fat sits directly against the metal, and aluminium does not corrode under it.
Performance & Benefits
- Takes one Henry Bell suet cake, held flat against the wire.
- 16cm, the smallest feeder in the Heritage line-up, so it fits a crowded feeding station arm.
- Aluminium body: light, and it does not corrode where fat touches it.
- Antique gold and bronze finish matching the Heritage seed, peanut and fat ball feeders.
- Easy-open lid, so a new cake goes in without unhooking the feeder.
- Open cage sides let clinging birds feed from either face.
Suitable For
- Henry Bell suet cakes in mealworm, berry, sunflower hearts and peanut.
- Long-tailed tits, song thrushes and wrens — the species Henry Bell name for their suet cakes — plus the tits and starlings that work any fat feeder.
- Year-round feeding. Suet is not a winter-only food.
- Gardens already running Heritage feeders that should match.
- Not sized for fat balls or suet logs. The Heritage Fat Ball Feeder and the Henry Bell Insect Oil Log Feeder take those instead.
How to Use
- Open the lid, unwrap a suet cake, drop it in flat and close the lid.
- Hang from a feeding station arm, bird table hook or branch, ideally out of full afternoon sun.
- Wash the cage in hot water with a bird-safe hygiene spray every time you change the cake — fat residue builds up quickly.
- Dry it fully before the next cake goes in.
- Scrape crumbs out of the base rather than letting them set solid.
Specification
- Henry Bell product code H040050. 16cm.
- Aluminium with an antique gold and bronze finish.
- Holds one Henry Bell suet cake.
- Part of the Heritage collection, alongside the 32cm seed, peanut, sunflower hearts and fat ball feeders.
- Henry Bell publish no weight, wire gauge or hook dimension for this feeder, so none is stated here.
