A feeder for the two foods that win over robins: dried mealworms and suet bites. From the Heritage Everyday range, Henry Bell's value line within the Heritage Collection, it is aluminium finished in the familiar antique gold and bronze, so it looks the part on a station alongside full-size Heritage feeders.
Insect protein and suet matter most in two seasons. In spring and early summer adults are feeding nestlings and protein is short; in hard winter weather small birds need fat to see them through long nights. One feeder that takes either food lets you switch between the two as the year turns.

How to Use
- Fill through the lid with mealworms or suet bites; start with a small amount while birds discover it.
- Hang close to hedging or shrubs where robins and wrens feel secure, but away from fence tops cats use.
- Soak dried mealworms in warm water before feeding during the breeding season.
- Wash weekly in warm water with a bird-safe hygiene spray and dry fully.
- Remove any damp or mouldy feed straight away rather than topping up over it.
