Peanuts are a squirrel's favourite, and a plain peanut feeder in a squirrel garden rarely stays full for long. Henry Bell's answer is this Heritage feeder: an inner peanut feeder holding 300g, surrounded by a decorative cage that keeps squirrels and larger birds away while smaller birds go in to feed.
It is finished in Henry Bell's antique gold and bronze and built in the Heritage range's hardwearing aluminium, so it looks right next to the rest of the collection. Coal tits, blue tits and nuthatches are the birds that make most of a caged peanut feeder — they are quick through the bars and happy to feed in a confined space.

How to Use
- Open the feeder and fill the inner holder with peanuts.
- Hang from a feeding station, bird table or branch out of jumping range of fences and trees.
- Keep fresh water nearby for drinking and bathing.
- Wash regularly with a bird-safe hygiene spray, dry it, and remove any damp or old nuts first.

Care & Caution
- Whole peanuts must only be fed from a mesh peanut feeder, never loose. A whole nut carried to the nest can choke a chick.
- Only buy peanuts sold for birds and tested for aflatoxin, which is toxic to birds and cannot be seen.
