Henry Bell Heritage Squirrel Proof Cage
Already have a feeder you like and a squirrel problem? This is the cage on its own. Henry Bell's Heritage Squirrel Proof Cage is a large, heavy duty guard that goes over an existing hanging feeder, letting small birds through to feed while squirrels and larger birds are kept off.
Fitting it takes no tools: lower the cage over the feeder so the feeder's hanger comes up through the top, then hang the whole thing as normal. It is finished in deep bronze to match the Heritage Collection, but it works around other makes of tube feeder too, provided they fit inside.
Performance & Benefits
- Turns an existing hanging feeder into a squirrel-deterring one.
- Large, heavy duty cage that also keeps pigeons and other large birds off.
- No tools or fixings — the feeder's own hanger threads through the top.
- Deep bronze finish to match Henry Bell Heritage feeders.
- Small birds pass between the bars to feed in safety.
Suitable For
- Henry Bell Heritage Collection seed, sunflower, nyger and peanut feeders.
- Other hanging tube feeders, up to about 35cm tall according to the supplier.
- Gardens where squirrels or pigeons clear feeders within hours.
- Tits, finches, sparrows and other small birds.
- Not needed on Henry Bell's squirrel proof feeders, which already have their own cage.
How to Use
- Place the cage over your feeder so the feeder's hanger feeds through the top of the cage.
- Hang from a feeding station or another suitable point in the garden.
- Position it at least a couple of metres from anything a squirrel could jump from.
- Lift the cage off to refill and clean the feeder inside.
- Wash the cage occasionally with warm water and a bird-safe hygiene spray.
Specification
- Henry Bell product code H040022.
- Heavy duty cage, deep bronze finish, Heritage Collection.
- Fits feeders up to about 35cm high according to the supplier; Henry Bell do not publish internal dimensions, so check your feeder's height before ordering.
- External size, bar spacing and weight: not published by Henry Bell.
