Great & Small Grey Stoneware Jar With Bamboo Lid
£16.99
Great & Small Penrose Grey Stoneware Jar with Bamboo Lid
A treat jar from the Great & Small Penrose range: high-fired ceramic stoneware in a plain grey, with a hardwearing bamboo lid and a rubber inner seal. The seal is the part that earns its keep — it is what keeps the air off biscuits that would otherwise go soft inside a week.
Stoneware is fired hotter than ordinary earthenware, which vitrifies the clay and leaves it non-porous, so it neither takes up smells nor holds bacteria the way a lower-fired pot can. It is dishwasher safe, and it matches the rest of the Penrose bowls and dishes if you want the feeding corner to look of a piece.
Performance & Benefits
- High-fired ceramic stoneware, which Great & Small choose for durability.
- Non-toxic and non-porous, so it does not absorb smells or harbour bacteria.
- Hardwearing bamboo lid with a rubber inner seal.
- Dishwasher safe.
- Grey, matching the wider Penrose range of bowls and dishes.
- Plain enough to leave out on a worktop rather than hide in a cupboard.
Suitable For
- Dog and cat treats and biscuits.
- Kitchens where the container is going to be on show.
- Anyone assembling a matching Penrose feeding station.
- Dry food and treats, rather than anything wet.
- Not a bulk food store — Great & Small publish no capacity, and a dedicated food bin holds far more.
How to Use
- Keep dry treats and biscuits in it, with the lid seated firmly on the rubber seal.
- Wash the jar in warm soapy water or in the dishwasher.
- Dry the bamboo lid thoroughly before putting it back on.
- Check the rubber seal is properly seated each time you replace the lid.
Specification
- High-fired ceramic stoneware jar with a hardwearing bamboo lid and a rubber inner seal.
- Colour grey; the Penrose jar is also made in teal.
- Non-toxic, non-porous and dishwasher safe.
- Great & Small publish no capacity, no dimensions and no weight for this jar, so none are stated here.
- Great & Small publish no separate care instruction for the bamboo lid.
