Gorilla Multi-Tub Round 65L – Heavy-Duty Rigid Plastic Storage Tub
Red Gorilla Multi-Tub Round 65L
The Multi-Tub Round is the big rigid one. At 65 litres and just under 60cm across the top it is the tub Red Gorilla make for standing still and holding a lot — soaking a haynet, watering a group, mixing a barrow-load of mortar, or sitting sunk in the ground as the vessel for a small pond.
It is worth being clear that this is not a flexible Gorilla Tub. The walls are rigid recycled plastic with a wide rolled edge and a flat round base, which is what makes it stand up straight when full and stack away when empty — and also what means you cannot squash it or flex ice out of it.
Performance & Benefits
- 65 litre capacity — roughly three full Flexi Buckets, in one vessel that does not need holding.
- Rigid tapered walls and a flat round base, so it stands square on rough ground and does not slump when filled.
- Moulded from recycled, non-toxic rigid plastic, which Red Gorilla rate as frost, UV and weatherproof for permanent outdoor use.
- Smooth interior with no seams, so soaked hay, feed residue and set mortar release rather than clinging.
- Stackable when empty, which matters at this size — an empty 65L tub takes up a lot of floor otherwise.
- Red Gorilla design it to be drilled and plumbed as a sunken or freestanding pond and water feature liner.
Suitable For
- Soaking hay and haynets, and holding a soaked or damped feed for more than one horse.
- Standing water for a field group, or as a sunken or freestanding pond and water feature vessel.
- Mixing mortar, plaster or compost in useful quantity.
- Bulk storage of bedding, rugs, tools or root vegetables under cover.
- Too big and too rigid to be a carrying tub — for a single feed or a bucket you actually lift, the Gorilla Plas S1 Small Feed Skip 11L and the Gorilla Tub Small 14L are the ones to use.
How to Use
- Site it on level ground before filling. Full of water it is close to 65kg and will not be moved once it is.
- Tip it to empty rather than lifting it; the rolled edge gives a good grip along the rim.
- Rinse and scrub the smooth interior after soaking hay — it is the residue, not the tub, that goes sour.
- Stack empties inside one another and store them out of the wind, which will otherwise take them across the yard.
Specification
- Capacity 65 litres. External top diameter 59.5cm, external base diameter 47cm, external height 34cm.
- Internal top diameter 55cm, internal base diameter 45cm, internal depth 32cm.
- Rigid recycled, non-toxic plastic. Frost, UV and weatherproof. Round flat base, tapered sides, stackable.
- Red Gorilla publish no empty weight and no food-grade certification for this tub, so neither is claimed here. A figure of 1.7kg and dimensions of 37 x 74cm appeared on this listing previously; those belong to the rectangular 65L Multi-Tub, not the round one.
Care & Caution
- Filled, this is 65 litres of open standing water. Site it or fence it where small children and loose stock cannot get into it, and cover or empty it when it is not in use.
- The walls are rigid, so unlike a flexible Gorilla Tub you cannot flex a plug of ice out. In hard frost lift the ice out whole or thaw it — levering against the wall is how a rigid tub splits.
- Once you drill it for a pond or water feature, as Red Gorilla intend, it is no longer sound as a carrying or mixing tub. Keep drilled tubs for that job only.
