Emerald Green Grass Pellets – 20kg

Pure fescue grass, dried and pelleted, with no molasses and no additives of any kind. At 16% protein, 25% fibre and an estimated 11 MJ/kg it sits closer to good grass than to hay, which is what makes it useful as a partial forage replacer rather than merely a bucket filler.

Starch is very low at 1.9%, so the energy comes from fibre fermented in the hindgut rather than from grain. Sugar is 10.4%, which is worth knowing: that is a normal figure for dried grass but it is not a low-sugar feed, and a laminitic pony wants something else. Soaked, the pellets break down into a soft mash for a horse that can no longer chew hay.

Feeding

• Feed according to bodyweight and workload alongside plenty of forage.
• To use as a partial forage replacer, soak until the pellets break down fully.
