A pelleted feed for waterfowl built around fish meal and prawn meal rather than the plain cereal and soya of a general poultry ration. Ducks and geese in the wild take a great deal of animal protein — molluscs, crustaceans, insects — and a marine-based pellet is an attempt to feed something closer to that than a layers pellet manages.

It is fed by scattering on water, which is how waterfowl prefer to feed and which keeps the pellet away from vermin. Charnwood Milling produce it at their mill in Suffolk for adult, growing and breeding birds alike, in a 15kg bag.

Feeding

• Scatter the pellets on water and feed as required.

• Contains fish and prawn meal. Do not feed it to birds under a veterinary withdrawal period without checking, and keep it away from stock it is not intended for.
• Scattering more than the birds will clear leaves pellets to rot in the water. That fouls the pond and attracts rats, so feed to appetite and no further.
