The fish pouch in the older Carnilove 300g line. Carp at 26% brings the omega 3 up to 0.2%, the highest of these four pouches, and 4% black carrot is the vegetable Carnilove chose for its anthocyanin colour rather than for bulk.

It is also the leanest of the group — 8.5% crude protein and 7% fat against 11% and 9% for the buffalo version, and 1,100 kcal/kg. That makes it the sensible pick for a dog carrying condition it does not need. As with the rest of this line the meat block is 59% turkey with only 26% carp, so it is not a fish-only diet.

Feeding

• Serve at room temperature, as a complete food or over dry kibble.
• 5kg dog: 1 pouch daily. 10kg: 1½. 15kg: 2. 20kg: 2½.
• 25kg: 3 pouches. 30kg: 3½. 40kg: 4.
• 50kg: 5 pouches. 60kg: 5½. 70kg: 6. 80kg: 7. 90kg: 7½.
• Use roughly half these amounts if the pouch is a topper rather than the whole meal.
• Change over across several days. Chill an opened pouch and provide fresh water.
