Canagan Venison & Wild Boar Stew Wet Dog Food – 400g

Canagan Venison & Wild Boar Stew Wet Dog Food – 400g

Venison at 35% and wild boar at 30% make this the only Canagan dog can built entirely on game, and the only one of these four with no poultry in it anywhere. For a dog that has reacted to chicken, turkey or duck, that makes it useful in a way the others are not.

It also carries the highest crude protein of the Canagan wet dog range at 10.5%, with crude fat at 6.8% and moisture at 78% — sitting between the lean turkey and duck recipe and the richer lamb one. It is the only can of the four with added vitamin A, at 3,000 IU per kg.

Performance & Benefits

• 65% game meat: 35% freshly prepared venison and 30% freshly prepared wild boar.
• No poultry in the composition at all.
• Crude protein 10.5%, the highest of the Canagan wet dog recipes.
• Crude fat 6.8% and moisture 78%, between the lean and the rich ends of the range.
• Added vitamin A at 3,000 IU per kg, which the other dog cans do not carry.
• Green lipped mussel supplying glucosamine at 100 mg/kg, with salmon oil for coat.

Suitable For

• Dogs that have reacted to poultry — there is no chicken, turkey or duck in it.
• Dogs on a novel-protein trial, where venison and wild boar are new to them.
• Puppies and adults; Canagan publish feeding tables for both.
• Fussy eaters, where a strong game flavour often succeeds where a bland one has not.
• Not fish free — salmon oil and green lipped mussel are in the recipe, so it will not serve a dog with a fish or shellfish sensitivity.

Feeding

• Adult dogs by size: toy 1–5kg take a quarter to half a can a day, small 5–12kg half to one and a half, medium 12–25kg one and a half to two and three-quarter cans.
• Larger adults: 25–45kg take two and three-quarter to three and three-quarter cans, giant 45–70kg take three and three-quarter to five and three-quarter.
• Puppies: toy take half to one and a half cans, small one and a half to two and a half, medium two and a half to four, large four to eight.
• Introduce over a few days, increasing the proportion of the new food daily.
