TopSpec TopChop Grass – 15kg

TopChop Grass is dried grass, chopped soft and dressed with a little linseed oil. The declared composition runs to two ingredients — dried grass and linseed oil — with no molasses, no sugar coating, no preservatives and no colourings. It is dust-extracted, which matters more than it sounds to a horse with any respiratory history.

Most chaffs are straw made palatable with molasses. This one is grass, so it does not need sweetening, and TopSpec position it as a partial or complete hay replacer rather than simply a bucket filler. The catch is energy: at 10.0 MJ/kg it is the higher-energy of the two TopChops we stock, and TopSpec exclude laminitis-prone horses from it.

Feeding

• TopSpec publish no feeding rate for TopChop Grass, so none is stated here. Feed by eye against the horse's forage intake and condition.
• It contains no added vitamins or trace elements. If you use it as a full hay replacer, a TopSpec balancer alongside it is not optional.
• Introduce gradually over seven to ten days.
• Ensure clean, fresh water is always available.

Care & Caution
