Real antler is hard enough to fracture a carnassial tooth, which is why a good many vets will not have it in the house. The Whimzees Antler borrows the silhouette and the long chew time without the mineral density — it yields to the tooth rather than the other way round.

This is the Large, 192 kcal and sized for dogs of 18–27kg. It is also the one shape in the range with its own recipe: calcium carbonate and chamomile extract at 0.20% replace the alfalfa and paprika found in the other shapes.

• Give it somewhere the dog can brace it against the floor.

Composition & Analysis

• Composition: potato starch, glycerin, powdered cellulose, lecithin, dried yeast, malt extract, lupine, calcium carbonate, chamomile extract (0.20%).
• Typical analysis: crude protein 1.1%, fat content 2.0%, crude fibre 7.2%, crude ash 2.4%, moisture 12%.
• The Antler recipe is not the same as the Alligator, Hedgehog or Stix — it carries calcium carbonate and chamomile and omits alfalfa and paprika.
• Whimzees describe the range as natural and grain-free, excepting the Ricebone shape.

Care & Caution

• Whimzees state these are not suitable for dogs under nine months old, or for any dog under 2.3kg.
• Whimzees warn that swallowing any item without thoroughly chewing it may be harmful or even fatal — stay in the room and take the last short piece away.
• Feed one correctly sized chew a day only, and always leave fresh water down.
