SPILLERS Conditioning Fibre – 20kg

Conditioning Fibre is a soft short-chopped blend of straw, alfalfa and dried grass carrying 10% oil — the same oil level as Alfalfa-Pro Fibre, but built on a straw base rather than a lucerne one, and fortified with a full vitamin and mineral pack. It is the chopped fibre to reach for when a horse needs to put weight on and cereal mixes make it sharp.

Starch sits at 7% and sugar at 5%, low for a conditioning product, and the calories come instead from oil at 11.0 MJ/kg. Protein at 12% is enough to work on topline rather than just belly. The chopped format slows a fast eater down, which is useful in a horse that bolts its feed.

Feeding

• Introduce gradually over seven to ten days.
• 250kg pony in light work: 1.5–2kg daily, split across a minimum of two meals, plus forage.
• 500kg horse in light work: 3–4kg daily, split across a minimum of two meals, plus forage.
• A Stubbs scoop holds roughly 0.6kg.
• Adjust to condition and workload, and keep clean water available.
