This is the middle recipe of the three Wild Bites: 92% meat made up of 45% fresh pork, 30.3% fresh chicken and 16.7% dried chicken, at 37% crude protein and 20% crude fat. Pork leads, which gives the sausage a different smell from the straight chicken version and tends to interest a dog that has grown bored of one flavour.

The ingredient list stops at glycerin, vinegar and minerals behind the meat. Crude ash sits at 7%, between the 4% of the beef and pork recipe and the 8.8% of the chicken one, and moisture is 27% across all three, so the treats keep the same soft, pliable texture.

Feeding

• Canagan's daily guide: a 2.5kg dog 3g, a 15kg dog 12g, a 30kg dog 21g and a 60kg dog 36g.
• Complementary food, fed alongside a complete and balanced diet, and counted into the day's ration rather than added to it.
• Break the sausages into smaller pieces for training so the allowance goes further.
• Reseal the bag after opening and keep fresh drinking water available.
