A simple blend of wheat, maize and expelled soya oil, fed as an afternoon supplement rather than a ration. The 5kg bag suits a small flock — corn keeps reasonably well, but there is no sense buying 20kg for four hens who should only be having a handful a day between them.

Corn is energy rather than nutrition. At 10% protein and almost no calcium it cannot sustain a laying hen, but fed properly it helps birds hold condition through winter when energy demands rise, and scattering it satisfies the instinct to peck and scratch. Made with source-identity preserved non-GM ingredients, with natural lysine and methionine.

Care & Caution

• A supplement, not a feed. At 10% protein and 0.04% calcium it cannot sustain a laying hen on its own.
• Overfeeding corn is the single most common cause of poor laying in back garden flocks.
