24 x Pallet of Bedmax Pine Shavings – Low Dust Horse Bedding

A full pallet of 24 bales of Bedmax, delivered in one drop. Bedmax is a large-flake pine shaving rather than a fine one, and the flake size is the design: big flakes interlock into a bed that holds its shape under a horse instead of being scraped into the corners overnight.

The other half of the design is dust. Bedmax screen and vacuum-extract airborne dust during production and state that their shavings have one of the lowest independently measured levels of airborne dust on the market — while being clear that no product made from natural timber can be made completely dust free.

How to Use

• Bedmax's figure for a new bed is 4–6 bags per average loose box.
• Lay the bed level across the whole floor to a depth of 15–20cm, which is 6–8 inches.
• Bank the walls 12–18 inches high to reduce the risk of a horse becoming cast.
• Bedmax's maintenance figure is around 1–1.5 bags a week, depending on the horse.
• Remove droppings and wet daily and top up rather than stripping the bed out.

• Bedmax publish a bag weight of 18kg, each bag covering approximately 2–3 square metres pressure packed. This listing and most retail listings quote approximately 20kg; the 18kg figure is Bedmax's own.

• A small amount of blue-grey staining can appear in summer months as a natural result of timber drying. Bedmax state it does not affect quality.
• Delivered by curtain-sided lorry. Check vehicle access at your site before ordering.

• Bedmax state that no company making shavings from natural virgin timber can guarantee that every bag is free of splinters, and that their extraction systems minimise but cannot eliminate them.
