24 x Pallet of AubiChick Poultry Bedding – 20kg Bales

A full pallet of 24 bales of AubiChick, delivered in one drop. Past a few birds the repeat ordering of bedding becomes the annoying part of keeping poultry, and a pallet takes it off the list for a season while working out cheaper per bale than buying singly.

The bedding itself is hemp shiv — the woody core of the hemp stalk — grown and processed without pesticides. Aubiose describe it as more absorbent than straw and wood-based products, which is the point: a drier litter holds ammonia down, and because it soaks up more you get through less of it. Once soiled it is 100% compostable and goes on the heap.

How to Use

• Spread a layer across the coop floor and into nest boxes, deeper under the perches where droppings land.
• Because hemp absorbs so readily, lay it thinner than you would straw and top up rather than over-filling.
• Spot-clean damp patches and droppings daily, and strip out fully as needed.
• Add soiled bedding to the compost heap; it breaks down into a nutrient-rich garden fertiliser.
• Keep the pallet off the ground and under cover until use — hemp is highly absorbent and will take up damp from a wet floor long before it reaches the coop.
