The Sterling Sunflower Hearts Feeder is Henry Bell's 32cm aluminium feeder for husk-free sunflower hearts, finished in silver and holding 490g in one fill. Hearts are the cleanest seed you can feed — nothing but kernel goes in, so almost nothing is left on the patio — and they carry more energy than any other straight seed.
Like every feeder in the Sterling Collection it has an easy-opening lid and a base that comes away, so the tube can be washed out properly rather than rinsed and hoped for the best. Hardwearing aluminium will not rust or flake, which is why a Sterling feeder still looks right after several winters outside.

How to Use
- Open the lid, pour in sunflower hearts and close it before hanging.
- Hang from a feeding station, garden hook or branch a couple of metres from cover.
- Hearts have no shell to protect them, so fill only what the birds will clear in a few days in wet weather.
- Take the base off and wash the feeder with warm water and a bird-safe hygiene spray every week or two.
- Dry it fully before refilling, and discard any hearts that have clumped or gone damp.
