Henry Bell Heavy Duty Everyday Mealworm/Suet Bites Feeder
Henry Bell Heavy Duty Everyday Mealworm and Suet Bites Feeder – Black
Dried mealworms and suet bites bring a different set of birds to the garden from seed. Robins, wrens, dunnocks and blackbirds are insect-eaters by nature, and a feeder that offers insect protein or suet pellets is how you get them coming to a station rather than only picking about underneath it.
This is the Heavy Duty Everyday version, Henry Bell's compact black range: aluminium, easy to clean and refill, with the same all-in-one base as the full Heavy Duty feeders. The base adds perching room — useful for robins, which prefer to stand than cling — and catches the fragments that drop while birds feed.
Performance & Benefits
- Takes either dried mealworms or suet bites, so one feeder can cover both foods through the year.
- Aluminium with a black finish, light and corrosion-resistant.
- All-in-one base adds perch space for birds that would rather stand than cling.
- The base also collects crumbs and stray pellets, keeping the ground below tidier.
- Compact version of the full Heavy Duty feeder, with the same build.
- Easy to open, fill and wash.
Suitable For
- Dried mealworms, Calciworms and suet bites or pellets.
- Robins, blackbirds, wrens, dunnocks, starlings, blue tits and great tits.
- Gardens already feeding seed that want to attract the insect-eating species too.
- Spring and early summer, when adults are hunting protein for nestlings, as well as winter.
- Not for fat balls, which need a cage feeder — the Heavy Duty Everyday Fat Ball Feeder takes those.
How to Use
- Fill through the lid with dried mealworms or suet bites; a shallow fill is plenty until the birds find it.
- Hang from a station arm, bird table hook or branch, near shrubs where robins and wrens feel safe.
- In the breeding season, soak dried mealworms in warm water for a few minutes before filling.
- Clear the base of crumbs at each refill and wash the feeder weekly with a bird-safe hygiene spray.
- Tip out any feed that has got damp rather than topping up over it.

- Henry Bell product code H040100, listed as the Heavy Duty Everyday M'worm/Suet Bites Feeder.
- Aluminium, finished in black.
- All-in-one base for extra perch space and food debris collection.
