This is the coarse mix companion to the Wessex cube — the same high fibre, low energy specification, but presented as a traditional mix rather than a pellet. For a lot of horses that is the difference between eating up and leaving the bucket, because a mix looks and smells more appetising and has the varied texture fussy feeders prefer.

It suits horses and ponies in light work or at rest that need something in the bucket without the energy of a performance feed. A 20kg sack is the normal yard buying size.

How to Use

• Feed at the daily rate printed on the sack for bodyweight and workload
• Divide the daily amount into two or more small feeds
• Damp lightly to reduce dust and slow down fast eaters
• Change over gradually from the previous feed across a week or more
• Always feed with ad lib forage and fresh water
