The Stubbs Tie Ring Plate S30P is a wall plate with a ring on it, for tying a horse. The plate is the whole point: a ring mounted on a plate spreads the pull across several fixings and into the wall, where a ring screwed straight into brick, or a single bolt through a board, concentrates everything into one spot and eventually works loose.

Fitted in a stable, a wash bay or a barn aisle, it gives a permanent and predictable point to tie to for grooming, tacking up, clipping and washing off. It also serves as a hanging point for haynets and water buckets, though tying a horse is what it is there for.

How to Use

• Fit at or slightly above the height of the horse's withers so the rope cannot be trodden on
• The wall must be sound; a tie point is only as strong as what it is fixed into
• Check there is suitable substrate behind the surface, not just board or render, before drilling
• Fixings may be needed and must be matched to the wall construction; if in doubt, use a competent fitter
• Always tie with a quick release knot, and use a breakable link such as a loop of string between the ring and the rope
• Pull hard on the ring to test the fixing before a horse is ever tied to it

Care & Caution

• Inspect the plate, ring and fixings regularly, and again after any hard pull
• Refit or replace at once if the plate moves, the ring wears thin, or fixings loosen
• Always use a breakable link between the ring and the horse so a panicking horse can get free
• Never tie a horse to a plate fitted in a wall you are not certain of
• Do not leave a tied horse unattended
