Stubbs Rug Rail S88 - Wall-Mounted Rail for Airing and Storing Rugs

The Stubbs Rug Rail S88 gives you a long horizontal run of rail on the wall, which is what a wet or sweaty rug actually needs. Spread along a rail rather than folded over a door or hung on a single hook, a rug airs across its full width and keeps its shape instead of setting into a crease down the middle.

The same rail earns its keep in the dry months as storage. Turnout rugs, stable rugs, coolers, fleeces and numnahs all hang along it, off the floor and out of the bedding. In a rug room or along a barn wall it replaces the usual arrangement of rugs draped over stable doors, where they get chewed, pulled down and trodden on.

How to Use

• Mount at a height where a full-length rug hangs clear of the floor
• Check the wall is sound and able to carry a fixed rail before drilling
• Fixings may be needed; match them to brick, block, timber or panel
• Support the rail at both ends, and along its length where the design allows, so it does not bow under wet rugs
• Spread rugs out along the rail rather than bunching them, and turn them once so both faces dry
• Choose a spot with some air movement; a rail in still, damp air will not dry a rug quickly

• Wipe the rail down and keep it dry between uses where you can
• Check fixings regularly, as wet rugs are considerably heavier than dry ones

• Fit out of a horse's reach so rugs and rail cannot be pulled at
