Snowhill Rubber Overreach Boots for Horses, Medium, Turquoise

Snowhill Over-Reach Boots – Medium, Turquoise

Turquoise makes this the easiest of the three to find in a muddy field, which is a real consideration with a boot that occasionally parts company with a horse at turnout. Medium is the smallest of the three sizes we stock, and the one to start with on a pony or a horse with a neat foot.

Construction is the same moulded rubber bell with a double touch-tape strap. The strap earns its place: it opens wide enough to pass over a shoe, so fitting does not mean hauling stiff rubber over a hoof with cold fingers.

Performance & Benefits

• Moulded rubber bell covering the heel bulbs and coronet.
• Double touch-tape closure that opens wide for fitting over a shoe.
• Medium is the smallest of the three sizes stocked in this range.
• Turquoise shows up against grass and mud if a boot is pulled off.
• Rubber rinses clean and dries without any special care.
• Cheap enough to replace a single lost boot without hesitating.

Suitable For

• Ponies and horses with a neat or narrow foot.
• Turnout, hacking and schooling.
• Owners who lose boots in the field and would like to find them again.
• Fitting over shoes, where a pull-on boot is a struggle.
• Not enough boot for a big, round foot — the large or extra large in this range fits properly.

How to Use

• Position the bell over the hoof with the opening facing backwards.
• Fasten both straps so the boot sits close but does not press on the pastern.
• Give it a light twist by hand — it should resist turning but not be tight.
• Rinse off mud after every use and dry before storing.
• Keep the touch-tape clear of hair, hay and bedding.

Specification

• Rubber over-reach boot with a double touch-tape fastening.
• Size: medium. Colour: turquoise.
• Snowhill Trade Saddlery run a trade-only, login-gated catalogue and publish no public dimensions, weight or material thickness for this boot, so none is stated here.
• A rubber thickness of 4mm appears on retail listings, including earlier copy on this page. It is not a figure Snowhill publish, so it is not asserted here.
• Also stocked in large (brown) and extra large (raspberry).

Care & Caution

• Take the boots off after work or turnout. Left on for long stretches they rub the heel bulbs and pastern.
• Check for rubs each time they come off, and stop using them if you find soreness.
• On a small foot a boot that is slightly too big will spin and chafe. Size down rather than over-tightening the straps.
