Skinners Field & Trial Puppy & Junior Chicken & Garden Veg 390g Dog Food
£1.43
Skinner's Field & Trial Puppy & Junior Chicken & Garden Veg – 390g
A single 390g carton of Skinner's wet puppy food — chicken at 60% with carrot, potato and parsnip, and nothing else in it but dried egg and dried seaweed. Grain free by composition rather than by claim.
At 139 kcal per 100g it is the most energy-dense of Skinner's wet foods, which is what a growing puppy needs. One carton is the way to find out whether a pup takes to it before buying a case.
Performance & Benefits
- Chicken at 60%, in a composition of six named ingredients.
- Crude protein 12% and crude fat 10% on 71% moisture — 139 kcal per 100g.
- No grain in the recipe.
- Dried seaweed supplies natural iodine; zinc, iron, manganese and copper are added per kg.
- Carton rather than tin, so a part-used pack is easier to cover and store.
- Single 390g pack — no case to find room for.
Suitable For
- Puppies and juniors from weaning to around 18 months, depending on breed.
- Bitches in whelp and through lactation.
- Fussy puppies, or as a topper over dry food to get a pup eating.
- Puppies with grain sensitivities.
- Adult dogs are better on the adult wet recipes — Skinner's Field & Trial Chicken with Root Veg is the grown-up version of this one.
Feeding
- Serve as it is, or spoon over dry food as a topper.
- Skinner's publish their daily amounts on the pack and through an interactive feeding guide on their own website rather than as a printed table, so none are quoted here.
- Split the daily amount across several meals for a young puppy.
- Refrigerate an opened carton and use it promptly.
- Fresh drinking water alongside.
Composition & Analysis
- Composition: chicken 60%, carrot 2%, potato 2%, parsnip 1.5%, dried egg, dried seaweed.
- Analytical constituents: crude protein 12%, crude fat 10%, crude fibres 1.5%, crude ash 3%, omega-3 0.24%, moisture 71%.

- Nutritional additives per kg: vitamin A 3,300 IU, vitamin D3 275 IU, zinc 27.5mg, iron 13.2mg, manganese 2.2mg, copper 1.3mg.
- Listings elsewhere add natural ground bone to the composition and give vitamin D3 as 3,275 IU and crude ash as 2.5%. Skinner's declare none of those; the figures above are theirs.
