The Flash Mesh lead is part of Nobby's Starlight range: a nylon lead with reflective stripes woven through the webbing and a light element running its full length. The reflective thread handles headlights on its own, and the LED handles everything else — a dark field edge, a footpath with no street lighting, a dog that walks a little ahead of you on a winter afternoon.

Nobby give the lead a 120cm length, three flashing frequencies and up to four hours of run time from a USB charge, with the charging cable supplied. It is splash-proof rather than waterproof, so rain and wet grass are fine and a swim is not. This is the red M–L version, Nobby order number 80757-01.

How to Use

• Charge fully before the first walk using the supplied USB cable.
• Press the button on the housing to cycle through the three flashing frequencies and off.
• Clip to the collar or harness ring as you would any lead, with the lit face outward.
• Wipe the webbing with a damp cloth and let it dry naturally; do not put it in a washing machine or submerge it.

Care & Caution

• The lead contains a rechargeable battery. Charge it where you can see it, not on bedding or in a closed bag, and stop using it if the housing is cracked or the lead has been soaked.
• Splash-proof is not waterproof — do not submerge the lead or let a dog swim in it.
• Not a chew toy. A chewed lead can expose the battery cell, so take it off a dog that mouths its lead.
• A light and reflective stripes improve how visible you are; they do not make a dog safe loose near traffic.
