Keratex Cleansing Hoof & Leg Scrub – 300ml
This is Keratex's wash for hooves and lower legs through the wet months, supplied in a 300ml trigger spray. It is sprayed on, worked in and left — Keratex say it does not need to be rinsed off, which is the practical difference between this and a shampoo when you are dealing with a muddy horse in the dark.
Keratex now list the product as the Cleansing Hoof & Leg Scrub. This listing carries the older Medicated name, which Keratex no longer use in their own product information. They publish no ingredient list for it, so none is stated here.
Performance & Benefits
- 300ml trigger spray, so it goes on one-handed while the other holds the foot.
- Sprayed onto hooves, frogs, soles, heels and pasterns.
- Can be scrubbed or sponged in.
- Does not need rinsing off — Keratex say it can be left on overnight to dry.
- Sized for the grooming kit rather than the wash bay.
Suitable For
- Cleaning wet, muddy hooves and lower legs through the winter.
- Yards without hot water or a wash bay.
- Routine use after turnout in wet conditions.
- Horses that will not stand for a full leg wash and rinse.
- Not a treatment for any hoof or skin condition — a horse with a hoof problem needs a farrier or a vet.
How to Use
- Pick the feet out and remove loose mud first.
- Spray onto hooves, frogs, soles, heels and pasterns.
- Scrub or sponge it in.
- Rinse off if you prefer, or leave it on overnight to dry — Keratex state that rinsing is not required.
Specification
- 300ml trigger spray bottle.
- Keratex publish no ingredient list, no active ingredients and no pH for this product, so none is stated here.
- Keratex's current product name is Cleansing Hoof & Leg Scrub; the Medicated name on this listing is the older one.
- Claims of Byotrol antimicrobial technology, of Jockey Club and FEI approval, and of a silent spray action appear in older copy and on retail listings. None of them appears in Keratex's current published information, so none is repeated here.
