Lincoln Rubber Curry Comb Blue - Large

Lincoln Rubber Curry Comb – Blue, Large

A traditional rubber curry comb, moulded in one piece with a handle bar across the back, in blue and the large size. The teeth are soft, blunt and flexible, and that is the whole point of it: this is the curry comb that goes on the horse rather than on the brushes.

Worked in circles, the rubber teeth loosen dust, scurf and dead hair and bring the natural grease up through the coat, where a body brush can take it away. It doubles as a massage, and most horses will lean into a rubber curry comb in a way they never do into a plastic one.

Performance & Benefits

• Soft moulded rubber teeth work directly on the coat without scratching the skin.
• Circular action loosens scurf and lifts grease for the body brush to remove.
• Flexes over the shape of the shoulder, barrel and quarters.
• Doubles as a massage, which most horses will stand for happily.
• One piece of rubber, so there is nothing to rust, rot or come apart.

Suitable For

• Everyday grooming on horses and ponies of any type.
• Clipped and thin-skinned horses that a plastic comb is too firm for.
• Bringing a dull coat up before the body brush.
• Taking dead hair out through a moult.
• Not the tool for thick caked mud, which wants the Lincoln Plastic Curry Comb or the Lincoln Grooming Block first.

How to Use

• Hold the comb with your hand over the moulded bar and the teeth against the coat.
• Work in small circles on the fleshy parts of the body — neck, shoulder, barrel and quarters.
• Keep it off the face and off the legs below the knee and hock.
• Knock the hair out against a wall as it builds up, away from the horse.
• Follow with a body brush to lift off everything that has been raised.
