The reason this sponge is bone-shaped is not decoration. A plain rectangular sponge squirms out of a soapy hand the moment you press on it; the waist in the middle of this one gives your fingers somewhere to close, so you keep hold of it through a full wash-down.

It is a general-purpose bathing sponge, sized for a hand rather than for covering a quarter in one pass. Green is one of several colours Lincoln make it in, which matters more than it sounds — see the light pink and yellow if you want to keep separate sponges for separate jobs.
