Likit Granola Stall-Ball Horse Treat | Flavours Apple, Mixed Berry, Peppermint, Molasses 1.6kg

Likit Granola Stall-Ball – 1.6kg

The Stall-Ball is the only Likit product that needs no toy at all. It is a 1.6kg sphere of pressed grain and glucose with a moulded loop at the top, and you hang it from your own rope. The spherical shape is what makes it work: there is no flat face to bite against, so a horse has to lick and nudge at a ball that swings away every time it pushes.

Likit make it in apple, peppermint, mixed berry and molasses. Because there is no plastic holder to buy, it is the cheapest way into stable enrichment if you own nothing else, and it travels well — one rope and one ball and a strange stable becomes tolerable.

Performance & Benefits

• No holder or toy needed. Hang it from your own rope and it is ready.
• Spherical and rock hard, so there is no flat edge to bite against.
• Swings and spins as the horse works at it, which is most of the entertainment.
• 1.6kg, so there is a lot of it — considerably more than a 650g refill.
• Packs into a lorry locker for shows and overnight stays.
• Gives a stabled horse an alternative to weaving, box-walking and door chewing.

Suitable For

• Stabled horses and ponies with time to fill.
• Owners who do not already own a Likit Holder or Boredom Breaker.
• Box rest, where a hanging ball gives movement without exercise.
• Travelling, shows and overnight stabling away from home.
• Not one for a laminitic, insulin-resistant or Cushing's horse — the Rockies Baby Pure Salt Lick is the sugar-free lick we stock for stable enrichment.

Feeding

• Thread a strong rope or a lorry tie through the moulded loop and tie it off securely.
• Hang the ball above the horse's eye level and freely away from the walls, so it cannot be pinned and bitten.
• No Likit Holder, Boredom Breaker, Tongue Twister or Boredom Buster is required or usable — the ball hangs on its own.
• Likit publish no daily feeding limit for the Stall-Ball. Fed alongside normal forage and hard feed.
• Clean, fresh water available at all times.

Composition & Analysis

• Composition, as declared by Likit: glucose, mixed grains (kibbled maize, rolled oats, bruised barley, whole wheat), sucrose. Additives: flavouring.
• Analytical constituents, Likit's own: crude protein 6.6%, crude oil 2.5%, crude fibre 1.7%, crude ash 0.7%, sodium 0.3%.
• Likit publish no sugar or starch percentage for the Stall-Ball. Given the glucose, sucrose and cereal base it should be assumed to be high in both.
• Likit's website does not state a weight for the Stall-Ball; this one is 1.6kg.
• Flavours in the Likit range: apple, peppermint, mixed berry and molasses.

Care & Caution

• Hang it from a fixing and a rope that will take a horse leaning its full weight on the ball, and check both regularly.
• Hang it high enough that a shod hind foot cannot reach it, and clear of the walls so it swings.
• Glucose, sucrose and cereal based. Likit publish no sugar or starch figure, so it is not one for a laminitic, insulin-resistant or Cushing's horse.
• Deliberately rock hard, so it does not suit a horse with poor teeth or a sore mouth.
