KM Elite Padded Headcollar – Baby Blue, Medium (Cob)
The KM Elite Padded Headcollar is built up from double- and triple-weave lined nylon webbing, with soft padding across the headpiece and the noseband. In baby blue and Medium — which is KM Elite's Cob fitting — it is a smart, everyday headcollar rather than a plain navy stable-yard workhorse.
The padding is the reason people buy it. A thin nylon headcollar bears on the nose and behind the ears; the lined and padded version spreads that load, which matters on a horse that leans back on the rope or stands tied for long periods at a show. Clips and hardware are brass-coloured throughout.
Performance & Benefits
- Double- and triple-weave lined nylon webbing, substantially heavier than a single-layer headcollar.
- Soft padded headpiece and noseband, spreading pressure rather than concentrating it.
- Brass-coloured clips and hardware for a finished, tidy look.
- Medium is KM Elite's Cob fitting, sitting between Small (Large Pony) and Large (Full).
- Baby blue is one of the pale shades in a range KM Elite list as running to 18 colours.
Suitable For
- Cob-sized horses and larger ponies in everyday handling.
- Tying up for grooming, tacking up and the farrier.
- Travelling and standing tied at shows, where the padding earns its keep.
- Pairing with a matching baby blue KM Elite lead rope.
- Not a breakaway or fieldsafe design — KM Elite do not describe it as one. For unsupervised turnout, use a headcollar built to break under load, or turn out without one.
How to Use
- Fit the noseband roughly two fingers' width below the cheekbone, with room for two fingers between the noseband and the nose.
- Adjust the headpiece so the throat lash sits behind the cheek without pressing on it.
- Hand wash in warm water and air dry naturally. KM Elite say not to tumble dry it, which would spoil the padding and the hardware finish.
- Hang it by the headpiece rather than the noseband so it keeps its shape.
Specification
- Double- and triple-weave lined nylon webbing.
- Padded headpiece and noseband.
- Brass-coloured clips and hardware.
- Size Medium = Cob. KM Elite's full size run is XXXS (Shetland), XXS (Colt), XS (Small Pony), Small (Large Pony), Medium (Cob), Large (Full), XL (XFull).
- SKU 1001987. Barcode 5060171231264.
