A single suet cake with raisins and rowan berries pressed through it, sized to drop straight into a standard square suet cake feeder. Fruit in the fat is what makes it worth putting out: blackbirds, song thrushes and wrens will work at a berry cake when they would ignore a plain seed feeder.

A cake is a slower feed than loose pellets. Birds have to pick at the block, which spreads a modest amount of food across several days and keeps them returning to the same spot. It suits a cage feeder and a bird table equally well.
