How to Use

• Stand it on a flat, open patch of lawn or paving with clear sightlines around it.
• Fill the tray with a shallow layer of seed, suet pellets, mealworms or Calciworms.
• Lift the cage to fill and to clean, and put out only what will be eaten in a day.
• Wash weekly in warm water with a bird-safe hygiene product; droppings concentrate faster on a ground tray than a hanging feeder.
• Shift it a metre or two every few weeks so one patch of ground does not become soiled.

Care & Caution

• Do not put whole peanuts in a ground feeder. Adults carry them whole to the nest and a chick can choke; peanuts belong in a mesh feeder.

• Clear up food spilled outside the cage each evening so it does not draw rats and mice overnight.
