Henry Bell Beach Hut Nest Box – Pale Blue
A nest box that looks like a seaside beach hut, painted pale blue — and underneath the styling, a properly specified tit box. Henry Bell fit it with a 28mm entrance hole and a protector plate around it, giving the tit family and other small birds a safe, snug space to nest.
The 28mm hole is the size that admits blue tits, coal tits and great tits while keeping house sparrows out, and the protector plate stops woodpeckers and squirrels from gnawing the hole wider to reach the brood. Henry Bell say their nest boxes comply with expert recommendations. It also comes in mid blue.

How to Use
- Fix firmly to a wall, tree or post, facing between north and east, out of strong sun.
- Mount it at least 1.5m off the ground with a clear flight line to the hole.
- Keep it away from bird feeders, as busy feeders disturb nesting pairs.
- Put it up during autumn or winter so it is in place well before spring.
- Clean it once a year in autumn: remove the old nest and scald with boiling water.

Care & Caution
- It is an offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 to disturb an active nest. Leave the box alone from March to August.
- Only open and clean the box between September and January, once you are sure it is empty.
