Great & Small's Merry Christmas advent calendar gives your dog a meaty treat every day through December. Behind its 24 doors are grain-free chicken treats in nine festive shapes, flavours and sizes, from chicken-filled snowmen and Santas to Christmas tree sticks, knotted bones and a reindeer.

Every treat is made with chicken, sweet potato flour and pea starch, and most add pumpkin, beetroot, broccoli or carrot. The calendar holds 230g of treats, suits dogs from six months old, and the cardboard can go in the recycling once the last door is open.

Feeding

• Open one door each day from 1 December and give the treat by hand
• Feed as a treat between your dog's normal meals, as part of a balanced diet
• Make sure the treat size suits your dog's size and chewing habits
• Supervise your dog while it eats, and keep fresh drinking water available at all times
• Give treats on a surface that will not stain, and store the calendar in a cool, dry place
