No Bute Premium – 1 Litre

No Bute Premium is The Animal Health Company’s liquid devil’s claw supplement with three things added to the standard No Bute: MSM, glucosamine sulphate and vitamin C. The devil’s claw does the work on comfort and connective tissue; the glucosamine sulphate is there for cartilage, the MSM for cell turnover and circulation, and the vitamin C as a free-radical scavenger.

It is a liquid rather than a powder, which matters with a fussy horse — it goes over a token feed and is hard to leave in the bottom of the bowl. The one litre bottle covers forty days at the maintenance rate, or roughly twenty-five days if you run the two-week loading dose first.

Feeding

• Loading dose: up to 40ml a day for two weeks.
• Maintenance: up to 25ml a day thereafter, as required.
• Add to the feed and mix in. Shake the bottle before measuring.
• One litre gives forty days at 25ml a day.
• The lower feeding rates quoted for standard No Bute — 20ml for ponies up to 14.2hh, 40ml above — apply to that product, not to Premium.

Care & Caution

• The Animal Health Company state plainly that this must not be given to horses competing under FEI rules. Devil’s claw is a prohibited substance in competition.
• Do not feed to pregnant mares.
• Check your own discipline’s rules and withdrawal guidance before use — national bodies treat devil’s claw as a controlled substance too, not only the FEI.
