CarPlan Blue Star De-Icer – 500ml Trigger Spray

Blue Star is CarPlan's de-icer in a 500ml trigger bottle, product code TDI501, and it works down to −15°C. On a hard frost the trigger is the useful format: you can put the spray exactly where you want it and work steadily down the glass rather than flooding the whole screen from an aerosol.

CarPlan's own method is worth following, because doing it in the wrong order wastes half the bottle. Clear any heavy snow off first, hold the bottle upright close to the screen, start at the top and work across and down, then clear the melt off with the wipers and wipe the excess away with a cloth so it does not simply refreeze.

How to Use

• Remove any heavy deposits of snow first.
• Hold the bottle upright and position the spray close to the windscreen.
• Start at the top, move across and work down the glass.
• As the ice melts, clear the surplus with the windscreen wipers.
• Wipe off the excess with a clean cloth to prevent it refreezing.

Care & Caution

• De-icer is an alcohol-based chemical, not a screenwash. Keep it off skin and out of eyes, and read the hazard information on the label before first use.
• It is harmful if swallowed and dangerous to animals. Do not let a dog, cat or horse lick treated glass, a de-iced bonnet or the run-off puddle under the car.
• Keep away from naked flames, cigarettes and heat sources — the vapour is flammable.
• Do not leave it standing on paintwork or trim, and store the bottle upright with the trigger locked.
• Keep it out of reach of children, and never decant it into a drinks bottle.
