Three birds in one 100g tin: 35% chicken meat backed by chicken liver and chicken hearts, then 10% duck and 10% pheasant on top. The organ meat is the reason this one smells as strongly as it does, and liver and heart are where most of the natural taurine and B vitamins in a wet cat food come from.

Of the two Carnilove cat tins we list, this is the poultry one — every meat in it is a bird. It runs at 10.6% crude protein and 6.6% fat on 79% moisture, and at 1,040 kcal/kg it is a denser feed per gram than the 85g gravy pouches, so a cat needs fewer grams of it.

Feeding

• Serve at room temperature. Fresh water must be available at all times.
• 1kg cat: about half a 100g tin daily as a complete food.
• 3kg cat: roughly 2½ tins daily.
• 5kg cat: up to 4½ tins daily.
• Halve these amounts when the cat is also eating dry food.
• Transition over 5–7 days. Cover and refrigerate an opened tin.
