The only can in the Canagan range with no second animal ingredient. Instead of 5% of another meat or fish, this one carries 4% carrot and 4% pumpkin alongside 58% chicken breast, with the broth reduced to 28% to make room for them.

Pumpkin has a long history in cat feeding as a gentle, bulking fibre, and that is the reason to choose this can over its siblings — a cat with an unsettled digestion, or one that needs a little more form to its stools, rather than a cat that simply wants a different flavour.

Feeding

• Canagan publish one figure for their cat cans: two to three cans a day for any adult cat.
• Canagan publish no separate kitten figure for the cans — their kitten guides cover the dry food and the 85g pouches — so feed a kitten to condition and growth.
• Canagan advise adjusting by 10% either way if your cat is carrying too much or too little condition.
• Serve at room temperature — cold from the fridge dulls the smell, and cats feed on smell.
