Aubiose Hemp Horse Bedding – Pallet of 24 Bales

A full pallet of 24 x 20kg bales of Aubiose hemp bedding, delivered in one drop. Aubiose put maintenance at roughly one bale a week once a bed is laid, which makes a pallet somewhere around six months of bedding for a single stabled horse, or a good deal less on a busy livery. The saving is partly per bale and partly in not reordering every fortnight.

The bedding itself is the standard Aubiose: chopped hemp shiv, dust-extracted rather than screened, drawing liquid down into the base of the bed so the surface stays dry. It composts naturally and produces about half the manure volume of a straw bed. The only real question a pallet raises is where you are going to put it and whether a lorry can reach you.

How to Use

• Aubiose give seven to eight bales to lay a bed in a standard 3.5m x 3.5m stall, so budget a third of the pallet for the first bed.
• Then about one bale a week to maintain it — roughly six months from a pallet for one horse.
• Skip out thoroughly daily; the wet sits below the visible surface.
• Break the pallet down and store the bales off the ground under cover. Hemp draws damp out of a concrete floor.
• Compost the used bedding or send it to an organic waste facility.
