A textured rubber ball on a rope, moulded from natural rubber blended with recycled coffee grounds. It does two jobs at once: a ball to chew and chase, and a rope to hold so you can tug at one end while the dog works the other, without your hand near any teeth.

The rubber is firm yet flexible, so teeth sink in without easily puncturing it, and the coffee grounds in the compound give the surface a grippy, matt feel. Ancol give the ball as 11 x 5cm and point the coffee grounds toys at smaller dogs and puppies, so treat this as a small-dog tugger rather than something to hand a hard-mouthed adult.

How to Use

• Hold the rope and let your dog take the ball. Keep tugs low and level rather than lifting the dog off its front feet.
• Throw it by the rope for distance, on grass rather than hard ground.
• Wash with warm soapy water as required and allow to dry fully before reuse.
• Retire it once the rope frays badly or the rubber splits.

Care & Caution

• Not indestructible. Dogs should always be supervised during play.
• Check the toy regularly for signs of wear and remove it immediately if it is damaged or if parts become detached.
• Rope is not for unsupervised chewing. Swallowed strands can gather in the gut and cause serious problems, so put this away between sessions.
• Trim off and discard long loose strands rather than letting a dog pull them free.
