Ancol Playtime Jumbo Super Rope – 52cm
The Jumbo Super Rope is the heavyweight of Ancol's rope toys: 52cm long, but thick, so the length is all in the diameter rather than in reach. A big dog can get a proper mouthful of it and a handler can wrap a fist round the other end, which is what makes it hold up to serious tug rather than being pulled apart in a fortnight.
The rope is naturally strong cotton, made with recycled fibre. Cotton rope earns its place beyond tug: the strands work between the teeth as a dog gnaws, which helps keep teeth and gums in order in a way a moulded toy does not.
