Ancol Extreme Glow Balls

Ancol Tough Glow Ball – 7cm

A 7cm ball that charges in daylight and glows once the light goes, which makes it one of the few fetch toys that still works on a winter dog walk at five o'clock. Leave it on a windowsill or out in the garden and it takes its charge from natural sunlight — there is no battery in it and nothing to switch on.

It is also a high-bounce ball that floats, and there is a hole through the centre so a treat stick can be pushed through and the ball used as an enrichment toy rather than only a fetch toy. Ancol put it in the Playtime Tough range, though as they say themselves, no dog toy is indestructible.

Performance & Benefits

• Glows in the dark after charging in natural sunlight — no battery to fit or replace.
• 7cm diameter, a comfortable carry for a medium or large mouth.
• Floats, so it works at the beach, a lake or a paddling pool.
• High bounce, which makes a thrown ball far less predictable and more interesting to chase.
• A treat stick pushed through the centre turns it into an enrichment toy.
• Supplied in widely recyclable, plastic-free packaging.

Suitable For

• Early-morning and after-dark walks through the winter.
• Dogs that retrieve on land or in water.
• Owners who lose dark-coloured balls in long grass.
• Use as a treat-stick holder for slower, calmer enrichment.
• Too small to be safe for the largest breeds — a giant breed that can hold a 7cm ball behind the canines is better served by the Ancol Playtime Chase Tough Rubber Ball at 8cm or the Ancol Tough Tyre.

How to Use

• Charge it in daylight before use — a few hours on a windowsill is enough.
• Throw for retrieve, or push a treat stick through the centre and let the dog work at it.
• Wash with warm soapy water after use and allow to dry fully.

Specification

• 7cm diameter. Supplied as a single ball.
• Glow-in-the-dark, recharged by natural sunlight. Floats in water.
• Central hole sized for a treat stick.
• Ancol Playtime Tough range. Product code 991509.
• Ancol publish no material specification for this toy, so none is stated here.

Care & Caution

• An interactive toy, not indestructible. Always supervise play.
• Check regularly for splits and bite marks and remove it at once if damaged or if pieces come away.
• A 7cm ball is a choking size for a very large dog. Match ball size to the dog, and do not leave a dog carrying it unsupervised.
