Ancol Soft Blinker – Pink

The Soft Blinker is Ancol's simplest bit of night kit: a flexible strip 4.5 x 3cm that wraps around a collar, a lead or a bag handle and stays put without a clip to snap off. Because the body flexes rather than hinging, it sits flat against webbing and does not swing about as the dog moves.

Three settings cover most needs — constant light for a dog at heel, and two flashing modes for a dog moving in and out of hedgerows. Run times are unusually long for something this size: Ancol quote up to 50 hours on constant and up to 80 hours flashing, so a single battery lasts most of a winter of short evening walks. The same blinker is made in orange and green.

How to Use

• Wrap the blinker round the collar, lead or handle and press the ends together so it grips.
• Press the button to cycle through constant and the two flashing modes, and again to switch off.
• To change the battery, remove the back section of the blinker to expose the compartment, fit the new battery and refit the back piece securely before use.
• Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Do not submerge it.

Care & Caution

• The battery is a small cell and is dangerous if swallowed. Keep the blinker and any spare batteries away from dogs and children, and refit the back section fully before use.
• Water-resistant is not waterproof. Do not submerge it, and take it off before the dog swims.
• Check the wrap is gripping the collar properly before you set off — a lost blinker in long grass is not coming back.
• This is a visibility aid, not a chew. Remove it if your dog mouths at the collar.
