A clamp is how you join fence tape properly. Tying a knot in tape pinches the conductive wires together and away from each other at the same time, and the join goes high-resistance within a season; a clamp holds the two tape faces flat against each other across the full width, so every wire in one length meets its opposite number in the next.

How to Use

• Switch the energiser off and confirm the line is dead before you start.
• Overlap the two tape ends squarely so the wires line up across the width.
• Close the clamp over the overlap and tighten until the tape is held flat.
• Trim the loose tails back once the join is made.
• Check the join after the first fortnight and re-tighten if the tape has crept.
